Referees
We already have an extensive list of qualified referees ready to go — but we know that many people will want to get involved as Nepean Valley Basketball grows.
Becoming a referee is a great way to earn extra money, stay active, and support a new community program that puts people first.
We’ll be offering games across multiple age groups and divisions, so there’s something for everyone — from beginners learning the ropes to experienced officials looking for consistent work in a positive environment.
Please note: We are not currently affiliated with Basketball NSW. However, recognised learning and development programs will still provide opportunities to take part in Basketball NSW initiatives. Our goal is to offer these full pathways in the future.
All referees will be required to register with Nepean Valley Basketball before being allocated to games. This ensures you are covered under our insurance and part of our communication network.
If you’d like to register your interest in refereeing, please enter your details below — that’s all we’re asking for now. We’ll be in touch as competitions launch.
Domestic Payment Rates
All referees accredited at AA level or higher are paid at the maximum standard domestic rate. Domestic games are community-based and not equivalent to representative or FIBA-level officiating.

Volunteers
Our competitions and programs rely on passionate people who want to see the game thrive.
We’re inviting volunteers, club organisers, and helpers who want to be part of building something new — whether it’s assisting with game night operations, supporting junior teams, or helping run local clubs.
We deeply value the people who give their time and energy to the sport.
As Nepean Valley Basketball grows, volunteers will play a key role in shaping the future of our organisation — including committee and board positions that help steer our direction, culture, and community focus.
If you’re someone who believes in fair, transparent, and community-driven sport — we’d love to hear from you. We will be calling for people once the new competition settles in.
